Full Description

SK 4774 Earthworks identified by the RCHM, York, in the northern half of a 7.3 acre field just outside the Spa Extension Opencast site, south of Romley Hall Farm. (1) Geophysical survey in the northern half of the field immediately to the south of Romeley Hall Farm located a number of magnetically strong pit type anomalies of potential archaeological interest. (2) Investigation of these by trial trenching in November 1998 showed them to be geological in nature, rather than archaeological. (3)
