Full Description

An iron axehead or mattock from this bungalow that is possibly Roman in date [cf. Collingwood Fig. 65 No. 9 "Archaeology of Roman Britain" - illustration of Roman mattock - not this site]. (1) The occupier of this bungalow knows nothing of the find. S O Kay is now dead. No further information. (2) An iron axehead or mattock was found on this site and is possibly of Roman date. Whereabouts unknown. Recorded by S. O. Kay, 1959. (3)
