Full Description

(Area SK 5060 6442) "Tessellated pavement reported" (1) The foundations of a medieval mansion north of Radmanthwaite Farm may have given rise to local reports of a "Roman Pavement". (2) Local enquiries regarding the initial information above were completely negative. Probably confusion as noted by authority 2 or with the villa site two kilometres to the east. The indicated reference falls on a steeply sloping hillside; no traces of a building are to be seen. Mr S O Kay is now dead. (3)
