Type and Period (2)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

[SK 5147 7566 and SK 5152 7568] Two possible barrows were reported to Sheffield City Museum by M J Dolby in 1962. (1) No trace of the barrows seen. The indicated area is arable land and a new pylon line runs across it; the erection of these pylons has caused much disturbance. (2) A roughly circular mound recorded as a likely barrow on the crest of Hollin Hill could be waste from an area of small limestone quarry pits nearby. (3)
