Full Description

SK 51487614 Ash Tree Cave, Roman Pottery and Coin. Roman pottery was recovered during the course of Armstrong's excavations of 1949-57. (1-2) A Roman coin was found by metal detecting at c.15cms (6ins) depth, opposite the cave above the valley. Bronze of Nero, 54-68 A.D. (3) Associated with SMR sites 15123, 15124, 15125, 15126. Scheduled. (4)
