[SK 02929032] Abbot's Chair [G.T.] (1) Styled "Abbot's Chere" on a survey of 1640 (2), but, in fact, the socket stone for a large cross, one side of which has been split off. (2-3) Correct as above. It stands beneath a wayside shrine. See GP. AO/65/94/7. (4) A marking stone showing the lands of Basingwork Abbey. (5) Photograph collection (6-7)
