Full Description

Material collected, possibly over a period of time, from the fields to the west of Whitwell includes a scatter of Neolithic/Bronze age flint, with scrapers, flint waste flakes and cores. Pottery collected includes one sherd of Romano-British grey Derbyshire Ware, a sandy grey ware pitcher with a stabbed handle and some 13th/14th century Chesterfield/Brampton wares. Some of the material is recorded as being in Sheffield City Museum and some in Worksop Museum. (1)
