SK 54787682 The Birks. Medieval (?) double pile house. Derelict building owned by DCC. Has a 18th Cent. Front facing a 16th Cent. Double pile building. (1-2) Original NDAT reference to derelict double pile yeoman's house, and gives c.1600 as date. (2a) Sold by DCC to private farmer. Application to demolish outbuildings, including the C16 outbuilding. The application went to appeal and permission for demolition was granted in 1983. (2b)
