Full Description

An Augustinian grange of Darley Abbey has been recorded at Scarcliffe (1). Its earliest recorded date is 1252 (2). Scarcliffe Grange shown at SK 500701 on OS 6" 1967. (1-2) Present buildings are 18th-19th century and falling into decay. No earthworks visible. (3) Buildings marked as 'Scarcliffe Grange' on Sanderson's map of Twenty Miles Round Mansfield. (4)
