Full Description

SK 50307465 Markland Grips, Bronze Age flint material. Field walking by L B Cooper in this field in or before 1979 revealed a light scatter of material all over the field with a slight concentration at the east end of the field, parallel to the road. A number of tools and waste flakes were recovered. The former included a double-ended scraper, two button scrapers, a discoid scraper, a leaf-shaped scraper/knife and a core chopper. (1). A bronze socketed and looped spearhead was recovered from plough soil in 1973. Loaned to Sheffield City Museum, January 1979. (2)
