Full Description

Walls, water troughs, and gate piers, Church Street, Eyam, of 19th century date. 'Two stone troughs , one taller than the other. The lower trough is intended for dogs to use. The water supply for both is controlled at the hall.' (1-2) From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 21 76 PARISH OF EYAM CHURCH STREET 6/33 (North Side) Walls, Gatepiers and Water Troughs to E of Eyam Hall GV II Walls, water troughs and gatepiers. C19. Coursed squared tooled gritstone with triangular sectioned copings and tops of gatepiers. Wall encloses sheep pen to west and continues in front of Plague Cottages to east. Four sets of gatepiers. To west, wall set back to incorporate two large stone troughs, one lower than other. Included for group value only. Listing NGR: SK2167776429.' (3)
