Full Description

A stone trough located on the left hand side of the A623 from Calver. The stone well/drinking trough is fed by a spring and has a substantial stone construction. It was re-built by Derbyshire County Council in 1974/5 further back from the road than its original location due to road widening. It was originally one of the main sources of the village water supply. (1) A trough is marked on the 2nd edition OS maps at SK 2312 7538. (3)
