Full Description
Tomb of H Merrill, off Little Edge, Eyam, erected in 1666.
In a field adjoining Froggatts Factory there is a tabular tomb with H. M. inscribed upon one end. One of the remaining memorials to the victims of the Eyam plague of 1665-6. (1-3)
From the National Heritage List for England:
'SK 21 76 PARISH OF EYAM LITTLE EDGE 6/55 (West Side) Tomb of H Merrill, 25 metres north of Hollins Farmhouse (SK214768) II Table tomb. 1666. Gritstone. Plain table tomb with flat slab top inscribed 'HM 1666'. This is repeated on west end of tomb.
