Full Description

At SK 2173 7542 is a 1.3m fissure in the bedrock which may possibly be the worked out surface of a lead vein. The feature appears to be heading in the direction of lead workings in the area, in an adjacent field [see SMR 13149]. In this other field are also to be found spoil heaps and building remains. (1). There is no sign of this fissure on the ground, nor is there any sign of it on the aerial photographs taken in 1968 (AP ref. OS 68.288), which suggests that it may be recorded in the wrong location.
