Full Description

Netherseal Colliery named on late 19th century OS maps, connected via the Netherseal Branch Railway to the Leicester and Burton branch railway at SK 2810 1779. The site expanded over the last couple of decades of the 19th century, with a clay pit and several air shafts shown on the map. (1-2) By 1976 the colliery is no longer depicted - the area is shown as an enclosed field. (3)
