There is a trial shaft at this location (SK 2989 1357) on the 3rd edition 25" OS map of the early 20th century. It is not marked on the 2nd edition 25" OS map of c. 1900. (1, 2) The shaft is not depicted on the OS map of 1967. The area is shown as an enclosed field. (3)
