Full Description

A bronze flanged axe 'picked out of the bank by the side of an old road at Somershall' and a palstave 'dug up in the course of drainage operations near Somerhall' (the modern Somersal Herbert) were found in the mid-19th century. The flanged axe is now lost but the palstave is in Manley Museum, accession No. 39.31. (1)
