Full Description
There rocks above Birchen Edge close to Nelson's Monument. The names of three warships supposed to have participated in the Battle of Trafalgar have been inscribed on these rocks. The Nelson Society (involved with refurbishment of Nelson's ball in early 1990's) have researched ships crew lists etc and cannot find any local connection for choosing these three ships. (1) (2)
