Full Description

Photographs show a milestone between Owler Bar and Baslow on the A621 inscribed 'Sheffield/9/Miles' 'Bakewell/7/Miles'. (1,2) The milestone measures 27" wide, 4½" deep and has a visible height of 25", with lettering under two adjacent arches. The estimated date of the milestone is 1817. (3)
