Full Description

A quarry face bears the inscription 'CB 1803'. It is possible this is a terminal date for the quarry. This quarry produced the old-type slender, mushroom-shaped millstones, approx 2m in diameter. Farey records that sales had dropped off by 1811, but that millstones had been dug at Baslow.
