Gate piers and retaining wall, Brizlincote Hall, Brizlincote Lane, Bretby, of early 18th century date. 'The gate piers and retaining wall to the north-west of Brizlincote Hall Farm represent the remains of the original formal approach to the hall, and are Grade II listed. They are early 18th century, of rubble sandstone and ashlar, although much damaged.' (1) From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF BRETBY BRIZLINCOTE LANE SK 22 SE 2/4 (West Side) Gate Piers and Retaining Wall to North West of Brizlincote Hall Farmhouse GV II Gate piers and retaining wall to north west of Brizlincote Hall Farmhouse, the remains of the original formal approach to the house. Early C18. Rubble sandstone and ashlar. Pair of gate piers, each with moulded base, pilaster strips on two faces, the inner face with scroll terminations. Moulded cornice and concave pyramidal tops. Linked by low rubblestone retaining walls to two similar end piers. Much damaged. Listing NGR: SK2722122161.' (2)
