Full Description

Fieldwalking undertaken in 2002 produced a brown, translucent flint scatter of 24 pieces in two adjacent fields to the north west of Brook Farm. The assemblage included two thumbnail scrapers, a core and various waste flakes. There was an apparent concentration of finds at SK 2782 4377, with the scrapers being found away from the concentration. The assemblage is believed to be Later Neolithic/ Early Bronze Age in date. Found across the same fields was a general spread of post-medieval brick and pottery. (1, 2)
