Icehouse, northeast of conservatory, Calke Park, Calke, probably of late 18th century date.
'Icehouse of unusual design, stone-built, with two long interconnected chambers 8m by 8m by 3.5m high, barrel vaulted and rendered internally, with two shute holes to each chamber.' (1)
'Chambers have doors at each end and between the two. The icehouse has its own road to the lake. Disused (in 1985).' (2)

Ice House. Probably late C18. Coursed rubble sandstone. Set into a trough in the ground and covered by a mound of earth. Two long rectangular chambers. The entrance end has curved wing walls flanking the segmental arched doorway. A short passage leads into the first barrel vaulted chamber and a flat arched doorway communicates with the second similar chamber. Segmental arched opening at the far end. Each chamber has two circular shoot holes in the roof.
