Full Description

(SK 3532 1885)'Windmill (disused)' named on the OS map of 1887, shown on a mill mound (not named) (1) Later 19th century and early 20th century OS maps no longer name the windmill but show the mill mound (not named) as an earthwork (2-3) An earthwork windmill mound of post medieval date was identified from good quality aerial photographs as one medium size (4-15m) round positive feature. Centred at : SK 3530 1884 (Morph No. FR.132.4.1) (5) Slight indication of mound surviving adjacent to field boundary in 1994. (6) No information on this mill has been found. It could have been a wind engine. (7)
