Full Description

(SK 2444 2010) Drakelowe Mill (named on map), sited near to an unnamed stream running north into the River Trent. (1-3) Site of mill now occupied by Home Farm. (4) The mill is shown on Burdett's map of the late 18th century. An advertisement in the Birmingham Gazette of 22 November 1802 offered: 'To be let - a very compact farm and mill situated at Drakelow, near Burton-on-Trent. The mill is well supplied with water and has full employment for four pairs of stones'. No evidence of the mill now remains. (6)
