Full Description

A fine stone axe "of marlstone or the lower oolite rock" was found in Sudbury Park in 1870. (1) A polished stone axe from Sudbury is in Derby Museum, ref 140-51. (2) Derby Museum was consulted but no further information was obtained. (3) It is not known whether the axe in Derby is that found in the Park in 1870.
