Full Description
Centred SK 3181 1848. Clay Shafts (named on map) at SK 3178 1843 and SK 3181 1848, and Clay Shaft (named on map) at SK 3184 1853, connected by railway/tramway (not named) to Boothorpe Works (SK 31 NW 34). (1)
(SK 3181 1848) Old Clay Shaft (named on map); railway tramway not extant. (2)
Old shaft (named on map), Pumping House (named on map). (3, 4)
Shaft and pumping house not depicted - open ground. (5)
Earthworks shaft of post-medieval date seen as one medium size (4-15m) rectangular positive feature. Mapped using good quality aerial photographs. Centred at: SK 3182 1844. (6)
Area now waste ground comprising hollows and spoil heaps [1994]. (7)
