Full Description

(SK 3191 1927) Old Clay Shafts are named on the 1st edition 25" OS map of c. 1880 and 2nd edition 25" OS map of c. 1900. (1-2) They are marked as 'Old Shafts' on early 20th century mapping. (3-4) 'Shafts (disused)' appears on the 1:10 000 OS map of 1977. (5) The shafts were not seen in 1994. The area is now residential development. (6)
