Full Description

(SK 2922 2012) 'Old Shaft' named on late 19th century OS maps. (1, 2) In 1982 the shaft is no longer depicted on the map and the area is in use as a school playing field (so-named on map). (3) Probable site of Newhall Field Colliery, extant between 1790-1875 (4-5)
