Full Description

(SK 3000 1977) Old Shaft named on the OS map of 1888. (1). On the 1902 edition the shaft is not depicted and the area is shown as open space (2). By 1977 the area had been built over (3). An aerial photograph shows an earthwork shaft of post-medieval date seen as one small (1-4m) round negative feature, centred at SK 2999 1979. (4)
