Monument record MDR8055 - Ridge and furrow, Aston Hall, Aston-on-Trent

Type and Period (2)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

An area of open grassland in the grounds of Aston Hall Hospital contains the shallow upstanding earthwork remains of ridge and furrow, indicating that the area had previously been subjected to arable cultivation. Geophysical survey within a part of this area produced evidence of linear features reflecting the alignment of the parish boundary (former township boundary?) and of the surface evidence of ridge and furrow.
