Monument record MDR8171 - Water-pump, Well Street farm, Elton

Type and Period (1)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

Cast iron water-pump in Well Street, set in concrete and surrounded by a stone wall. A survey in 1993 determined that it was in good condition except for the lack of a pump handle. (1). The well is marked on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map and therefore, presumably, the pump predates 1880. (2).
