Milestone, northeast of Westhill Farm, Winster, a late 18th century structure. One metre high stone with black painted lettering on a white background, "To Bakewell 6 miles" and "To Ashbourne 11 miles". On the 1811 Ashbourne-Haddon Turnpike. Photographic record. (1-3) From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 26 SW PARISH OF WINSTER NEW ROAD 1/53 (North West Side) Milepost 300 yards south of the junction of New Road and Chadwick Hill II Milepost. Late C18., Wedge-shape stone milepost with rounded top. North east face reads 'To Bakewell 6 miles.', south west face reads 'To Ashbourne 11 miles'. Listing NGR: SK2341060690.' (4)
