Full Description

Series of urns found on Stanton Moor at various times. Two were discovered by quarryment in 1890. A large cinerary urn and an incense cup with a cremation were recovered by J. Heathcote (1). An incense cup labelled A18 'Belvoir House Farm' at Belvoir Castle is identical with specimens found in 1780 and 1889 on Stanton Moor. It is suggested that this cup also originates from Stanton (2-3).
