Full Description

An area of former quarries, producing millstones and, more recently, grindstones (1) Photographic record. (2-3) Stanton Moor Quarries were included in a study into the potential to re-establish the roofing slate industry of the South Pennine region. (4) A number of Quarries are shown on Stanton Moor on the 1st edition 25" Ordnance Survey map of c. 1880. (5)
