Full Description

Dimensions: Diameter 1m, depth 17ft 10in. Well discovered beneath back room of 9 St John's Street during redevelopment. Cut into sandstone, the top 0.35m was lined 5 courses of bricks. It was never used as it was dug in the year the main was connected. Only 0.25m sand and silt in the bottom, no finds except a clay pipe stem. (1)
