SK 25088 63460. INSCRIBED STONE.
Cut into the vertical N face of a rock outcrop is a rectangular niche containing a crown sculptured in relief and a raised tablet bearing the inscription 'G1834'. Approx. 2.5m N of this at SK 25088 63462 is another N facing vertical rock face bearing the inscription 'AGEN 1854'. These are probably quarrymens' graffiti of a very high standard.
