Full Description

Stone milestone, white-painted with black lettering. Inscription "To Ashbourne 4 miles" and "To Bakewell 13 miles". On the west side of the Ashbourne-Bakewell Road. The milestone would have stood on the 1811 Fenny Bentley-Hadden Turnpike. In August 1983, it was described as uprooted and lying in the grass. (1) Photographic record. (2) Dated as 18th century. (3)
