Full Description

Inscribed limestone guide stoop used as a gatepost in a field wall, two fields east of Pikehall Farm, on the opposite side of the road to the farm. The stoop was possibly originally located in the centre of Pikehall hamlet. It is made of limestone and is roughly square, 23cm x 28 cm and 104cm high. The inscription is in upper case, with lettering 10cm high. One face has 'LEEK / 1709', another 'DE(R) / BY' and a third 'BVX / TON'. (1) Photographic record. (2)
