Full Description

One limestone quarry comprising two quarries on either side of the A515 Buxton to Ashbourne road, connected by a tunnel beneath the road. The date of the closure of the quarry is unknown, but was prior to 1982. Conversion to a caravan site began in the eastern quarry in 1997. (1). Photographic record. (2).
