Full Description

471 yard long railway tunnel on the Midland Railway line. Built in 1860 to 1866. Driven on a curve with no ventilating shafts. (1). Construction of the railway line began in 1860 and was completed by 1863. It progressively closed during the 1950 and 1960s. (2).
