Full Description

Stone milestone which is located on the north side of the Bakewell to Ashbourne road. The stone is painted white with black lettering and reads 'to Ashbourne 2 miles' and 'to Bakewell 15 miles'. It is on the 1811 Fenny-Bentley-Haddon Turnpike. (1,2). It probably dates from the late 18th century [for full description see the listed building record]. (3).
