Full Description

Milestone comprising a squared stone pillar with a round top, with hard-to-read tooled writing on two faces. Situated on the 1759 East Moor-Wardlow Turnpike. (1) The 1st ed. 25" Ordnance Survey map marks the milestone and reads 'Bakewell 4, London 156'. It is not shown on the 2nd edition, but appears on the 3rd edition as 'Tideswell 4, Bakewell 4'. (3-5)
