Full Description
Gritstone milestone with triangular cross-section, c. 1.1m high. Two of three sides inscribed: 'SHEFF 15', 'MANC 23'. On Telford's 1818-1821 Glossop-Sheffield Turnpike. (1)
In December 2002 the milestone was measured as having a width of 16½ inches and a depth of 13 inches across the front. (2)
Milestone lies on the Sheffield - Manchester Turnpike (see SMR 34449). (3)
