Full Description
Cast-iron milepost on the A515 Ashbourne-Buxton Road. One face reads 'London 143 Miles, Derby 17 Miles, Newton Grange Township', one reads 'Buxton 16 Miles' and one reads 'Ashbourne 4 Miles'. The mileages relate to the 1771 amendment to the Buxton-Ashbourne Turnpike. In August 1983 there were no remains of the milepost.
