Full Description

Milestone located near the Dog and Partridge Public House. It may be post-medieval in date. (1). Late 19th century Ordnance Survey maps record that the milestone is engraved with 'Cheadle 12'. (2-3). Milestone on the south side of the original Blythe Marsh to Thorpe turnpike road. 'CHEADLE 12' is marked on a plate attached to the milestone, although the same wording is just visible cut in stone underneath. (4)
