Type and Period (1)

  • (Post Medieval - 1540 AD to 1900 AD)

  • None recorded

Full Description

Guidestone adjacent to gate with dimensions of height 600mm, width 300mm and breadth 150mm. The corner nearest the gate is chipped. Writing is apparently only on the south side, but it is very faint: 8 MILES TO BUXTON. Buxton is about 16 miles so the stone is possibly relocated, but is too short for a gatepost nor is it part of a wall. (1).
