Full Description

A plain cylindrical gritstone pillar 16 inches in height with the remains of an old pavement, outside the present Inn in the village of Clifton and near the Church is thought to be the 'butter-cross'. (1) See G.P AO/66/17/4. Siting confirmed. (2)
