Full Description

To the west of Peckwash Mill is the embankment of a branch railway line which crossed the Derwent from the Midland Railway to the mill by a wooden bridge. (1) The line is marked as 'Tramway' on late 19th century OS maps and is named as 'Peckwash Siding'. The line is marked as 'Tramway (Disused)' on an early 20th century OS map and by a mid 20th century OS map it had been demolished with only part of its earlier course marked as an embankment.
