Full Description

Railway embankment approximately 15 metres high at its highest point, carrying the track over a dip in the natural ground level. Boundary walls (SMR 30529 & 30530) form the retaining walls. There is a long drystone buttress up against the retaining wall (SMR 30530) and some modern repair. The same long drystone buttress in SMR 30529, apparently repaired with concrete and also a shorter concrete buttress. The area round the concrete butress is heavily repaired with gritsone blocks coated in concrete. (1-6). NGR: SK 20544 57360 - SK 20527 57588
